This is a fundraiser to procure oxygen for Covid patients in five of Chennai’s government hospitals. Samarpana has been in continuous contact with the Dean and doctors of these hospitals. Our conversations highlighted that the need of the hour is to augment oxygen supply, as the public healthcare system is facing an acute shortage of oxygen cylinders and other necessary equipment. Lives are lost while people wait to be assigned an oxygen support bed in ambulances and corridors. To combat this medical emergency, our goals are to procure a minimum of 420 oxygen cylinders with regulators and trolleys, 240 oxygen concentrators, 500 oxygen masks, NRBM masks and nasal prongs.

Due to the pandemic, several folk artists from all over India were badly impacted as summer months from March to May are the prime months where they earn from various temple festivals and events and save up for the rest of the year. Samarpana is grateful to have donations from public and disburse it to more than 1000 folk artists in the form of funds and essentials.
Art Heals is an initiative where different artists perform as an offering to the people during the lockdown.
This initiative focuses on doing an activity that will add value to the daily life of different sections of society - be it humans or animals that need a helping hand. Our aim is to conduct drives on a bi-monthly basis so as to have the widest possible reach.
Redefine how art is viewed by the common man by presenting art that is relevant to today’s audience without diluting classicism or uprooting the structure of the Indian classical arts.

Art as we know it today has survived despite enormous challenges because of the generous patronage that it received, both from the audiences in terms of continued interest and engagement, and abundant financial support from those in power. The very identity of a culture and a mark of its prosperity is measured by how its arts flourish and grow.
